Been tidying up my hard drive... I shot this on holiday in France, having planned our day trip out to pass by this location I'd seen on the map. The clouds were playing ball but sadly the farmer wasn't, having harvested the wheat at a time of year unthinkably early in Scotland! I've played about with a mono version but I like the red pan tile roof too much.

The light is perfect and the stubble gives a very complementary foreground to the church colours. I like the way you've kept the horizon low down using the sky as negative space. Doesn't deserve to have been left on the hard drive for so long.

Its a wonderful looking building and the light is catching it perfectly Alan. With no decent foreground interest to play with you made absolutely the right decision to showcase a really great sky. Its a super image. Well done.

The beautiful building sits so sympathetically in the landscape - and that sky sets all off to perfection

Very impressive house Al - think the crop stubble works well and you are right about the pantile roof.

May I just echo Dave's comment: he has said what I would like to think I'd have said too, Alan.
