This is a series of shots without flash from the same shoot. I kind of like the "natural"-ness of them and the progression of the series as she started to unwind and relax. These were taken towards the beginning of the shoot with all natural light. Crit and comments welcome

Hi Johnny, Like these natural shots a lot, although difficult to pick favs 1, 3, 5, are possibly the pick. I like the low viewpoint you've chosen for 1-4, whilst 5-7 have a wistful care-free feeling one sometimes sees in adverts and catalogues!
Not very constructive I know, but a good set nonetheless.

Wow, just got back my computer first thing after logging on and seen all this lovely feedback! Thank you so much guys, its really, really appreciated! I wasn't sure about uploading these at first as the last one I loaded in natural light didn't get much feedback at all, but this is a really pleasant surprise! I am glad you like them, these were probably the most natural of all the shots we did that day.
Andy, I can see what you mean about skin tones and so on, but I prefer not to retouch skin unless I really have to. I am not a fan of the over processed look on skin and with a natural shot, not sure it would have worked that well. But can see what you are saying and I am glad you like the images. Thanks! ![]()
Thanks Dave, really appreciate that. Yeah, V3 seems popular because of that look! lol! And I do like this series of shots, I am very happy with them. Over the lot that I have posted on here, there have been mistakes, I know that, but on the whole, as a learning experience and then getting the feedback on them, its been excellent and I am very happy with them. So thanks again Dave, appreciated!
A good set John. If i was to choose a favourite it would be V7 as i love the light on her hair. A cracking natural shot.
Cheers Jon, I like 7 myself too. As natural as I could get it, which was what we were after, so job done! Cheers again! ![]()
click from me mate, i think you can see here that she is more relaxed, poses are good. Love #6 & #7
Cheers Dave, yep, getting into it by this point. I like the last two as well. No flash either! ![]()
Some lovely shots here. I am still finding some of the angled shots distracting. I am not a fashion photographer but I think that I would be taking 'normal' as well as angled shots and choosing only the angled shots where the angle has added something to the picture. I really like the natural light which you have used in this series. A
Hi Arthur, I totally get what you are saying and I can see it would be an opinion splitter. But I guess for me, its all about 1) developing a style and 2) knowing the shots I have, putting the ones up I feel "do" more in the frame. I do have some shots which have completely horizontal horizons, but they are....well, to be frank, a bit boring really. I like the angle BECAUSE there are a lot of shots that are just "straight" I guess....and for what I wanted to do, I wanted to get a more "natural" shot, as though I was just snapping, which meant that a straight shot would have looked more set up. Hence a lot of shots with the angle. You're not the only one to say this about them, but I have also had a lot of people say they LIKE the angled shots, so I guess its each to their own really. But thanks Arthur, glad you like what I am doing and completely get your point. Cheers ![]()
Thanks Richard! Appreciated. How do you mean regarding "lots to work with" though? Sorry, I am being a bit thick...lol!
Excellent series of pictures johnny and you have chosen the best one as V1. Lovely light and composition
Thanks Matty, I like V1 too actually. Nicely framed and like the expression. Cheers! ![]()
Great set John! they are all very nicely done pictures, they would make a great portfolio for the model, version 1 i think looks like the most professional of the set, version 3 i realy like her smile (it is my favourite one) and version 7 is such a playful one i like it also
Paola
Thanks Paola! Appreciated! She was a model for a short while, but didn't like the business, so stopped, but she is very happy with them and was pleasantly surprised at the results! I think V1 and V7 are my favourites from this. Thanks again Paola, much appreciated again! ![]()
