I wanted to try extension tubes but just didn't get the chance to get them before he left, this is the closest i can get with the Tamron 90, a beautiful lens that i am proud to own and have much fun with.

Just a note about the tubes though, i sometimes find i can get a better quality image with more DOF if i use the lens by itself then slightly crop the image afterwards.

For this shot i shut down to F22 and focused just behind his eyes holding my SB800 just above the lens on TTL mode, even then some exposure adjustment was needed on the RAW file.
