I have decided to keep this image on my screen all day, I opened the door this morning to be greeted by not only frost and freezing temperatures, but also rain just to add that little extra to an already cold day.
I am finally up and about, the back is still twinging a little, but at least I can move without to much trouble. I was dropping my son off at work this morning as I am feeling better. The journey to the car from the front door was treacherous, ice everywhere which now had a nice layer of water thanks to the rain.
We set off and it wasn't long before I found the roads were like ice rinks. I carefully went around a roundabout which was really slippery, the car behind me actually ended up facing the opposite way. I was glad to drop him off and get home for a hot cuppa.
I don't think I will go out again today, the last thing I want to do is slip and end up stuck on the settee again.
If anyone is thinking of going out, please, please, please be careful, the roads and the paths are dangerous.
Todays upload is one from the Tynemouth Lido on the same morning as my upload "Shadow Boxing".
The sunrise was wonderful with a fantastic colour. The birds had been flying before I took this shot, but had landed as the sun rose, it was as if they were trying to catch some of that beautiful colour and warmth after a long cold night at sea.
Shortly after this they were spooked and all flew off again, I am just glad I was lucky enough to get this before they went.
Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave.

So many birds and reflections - a great capture against that wonderful colour
Frost here too, and then we had a dark sky, a rainbow and now its raining
A good day to stay in with plenty of tea at the ready ![]()

Wonderful image, great light and composition

A fine composition and some lovely light, Andy. The tiny shadows are nice, I thought this was a mirror image at first.
No problems for me on the road this morning but the usual idiots are still speeding and tailgating any- and everyone. We have decided against our usual Saturday takeaway as the roads will freeze once night falls, we live near the top of a steep hill and I am not fond of cold curry ![]()
Keep warm and safe!
Regards
Bill
How neatly lined up they are.
The short distance that I had to walk this afternoon, on a path that thought it was meant to be a skating rink, that was quite enough. Treacherous.

I love how they are lined up here Andy - and that bit of reflected light glinting on the water is nice.
At the light intersection by our house, grekels land on the wires right about sunset - it's quite a sight, and one I keep forgetting to photograph.
Anne
well captured, how did you manage to get them all posing there for you with almost every post taken
A glorious golden sunrise which is enhanced by the line of seagulls. A very important message for drivers to heed, sadly it is wasted on many of the numpties around here! (Gloucestershire roadusers not the epzers'!
