Disaster this evening - went to the local loch but wind was just enough to break reflections. Then broke tripod head. So went home for spare tripod. Then chased the setting sun in the car looking for a suitable silhouette. Finished up at a local trout farm where I have permission to photograph from the owners. Then realised I did not have the base for the two other tripods I had with me. Doh. Anyway this is my first effort shooting RAW. Converted via Paint Shop Pro 9. Two stitched images - had camera shake on top image but managed to get away with it as mainly sky. Like this as there is a Saltire effect in the sky. Look forward to comments. Thinking of sending the owners a copy of this print. Exposure details 4 seconds at F22.

Great shot the only thing i would say is that the jetty could of been centered a bit more, but heh thats me and after a day like that i would be over the moon with a shot like this.

The reflection of the red sky and the tree line in the water is great. I would be very pleased to have taken this photo.

Thanks Ryan, wondered about the composition - I have cropped the left as I found the reed a little dominant and didn't want the jetty central - I'll try this though. Thanks Martin

My goodness, Martin, what a saga! But it was worth it for this image. It has so much going for it. The ice-covered jetty leading the eye over to the small house on the far shore, the beautiful sky beautifully reflected in the water...an outstanding picture.

Lovely shot. I hace tried to see where the stiching was done but haven't been able to discover it. I understand that you had certain trials tyo get this one. If I would suggest one possible change it would be in the composing. Perhaps having the camera at slightly lower level to bring more attention towards lake and foregoround. IMHO.
