Taken this morning, on Deal Beach. Driving along heading towards Walmer castle, and noticed the early morning rays of light coming through the clouds, was lucky enough to see a young couple with their chid playing on the beach, stopped as quick as i could waited for them to get in position, right place right time job. I have attached another VERSION but only a cropped one, not sure which one i like, but its one of my favourite images i have ever taken.
Many thanks for looking.
Cheers.
Darryl. SmileSmileSmile

Very lovely shot, beautiful lighting. Very difficult to choose between the two - think the panaramic crop just has the edge, does seem to concentrate the eye on the rays and what's going on with the people and the birds.SmileSmileSmile

I like the cropped one, Darryl, and I can see why this would be one of your favourite shots with a great sky and composition.

Indeed a very difficult choice to make, however I shall follow the rule of two thirds and opt for version number two. An image full of divine inspiration and shed loads of talent.

Wonderful.
I seem outnumbered in much preferring the tall sky of
V1.

V2 is stunning! It focuses attention on the important details. Those birds in the sky are pure serendipity.

It is really rather good, Darryl, I can understand your attachment to it. Personally I'd go for the cropped version; really just a matter of opinion - - in an hour's time I might just think the opposite!

Spot on with this comment, v2 is superb, Darryl.

Dave

That's a Beauty! V2 for me as the extra sky in V1 adds nothing/has little interest. V2 concentrates the eye on the rays and in particular the family/birds which a look a little lost in V1. In other words, just as others have pointed out now I've read them. TongueWinkGrinGrinGrin

I can see why you like it so much - for me, the human element can always add that little extra. I'm going to be different and choose v1 as it gives the feeling of space more imho.

A wonderful image . When we were children if we saw rays like this we called it God Spoke. The little family group make this so special & the birds ! Amazing to get them all in such a great composition . I too like version 2 best . Extra sky makes no difference xx

Hard to pick but the full version shows how hard the sun was working to give you the shot.

Right time right place,,one for the wall.
