Heavy weather over the limestone pavements of Hutton Roof, near Farlton Knott, Milnthorpe. Lancashire-Cumbria border. Taken with my fav snappy (never be without) camera. I thought the sun on the limestone contrasted well with the dark ominous clouds behind.

You're right about the dark sky and pale tones of the limestone working well together. Lovely texture in the stone too.

Good capture Paul, with great contrasting light. I think I may have warmed the sunlight area a bit - maybe changed the white balance a tad - as the sunlight looks strong and direct and on my monitor the foreground seems slightly grey and 'winterish' but that may have been exactly how it looked. A

Thanks Arthur for your valuable constructive comments. It did look quite contrasty and harsh in reality. Warmth would be a great addition - although in reality that's not how limestone appeared. ~Paul
