One of the pair of wild Herons that have moved into Birdland at Bourton on the Water, We watched this pair on and off all day they were building a nest on the top of one of the Willow trees. This one is taking a break out from nest building and checking to see if the keepers were sneaking in an early pelican feed.
Once the feed starts they join the Pelicans in the river in the hope of grabbing a fish or two - which they successfully managed to do.
They provided us with great entertainment throughout the day.
