Amaryllis 'Elvas' re-photogrpahed to try and show the third flower in bud and in a sort of symmetrical manner: apologies for title, but it came to mind as I was working on the shot and stuck.

My thanks to all who commented on Upside Down.

Ronnie.

OK I'm going to nit-pick here. Iwould have removed the dead leaves at the top of the stem first. To me they slightly downgrade what would otherwise be a superb image.

Thanks for the suggestion, Adrian, but those 'dead leaves' are actually the withered sepal cases of the blooms, and an integral part of the plant........without them, the result would look unnatural.
Ronnie.

The bud helps to make the more pleasing odd number.
When my daughter sent me a bouquet of Amaryllis I wondered about the 'dead leaves' on some flowers too -
called the florist who came out to the house and she said this is the nature of the flower and an artist once stopped her removing
the offending 'dead material'.
I'll have a word with Adrian when I see him!
With double heads and these decaying leaves, I think amaryllis is a challenging plant!
Beautifully lit and taken Ronnie despite the challenge.
