Hi, would like your advice please, as the title suggests, is this photo high key or just over exposed. It is of my 'great niece' on a shoot at the weekend for her parents, (my niece), with a view to printing it onto canvas, The question is....is it worth doing anything with it, I actually quite like it and think it might be OK on canvas.
This was taken with my EX150 studio set up, with a shoot through umbrella and a softbox, being triggered from my SB600 attached to my D2X.
Any comments appreciated. Thanks

You can answer your own question on the whether it's high-key by looking at the histogram. A high-key photo will have all the tones in the upper part of the histogram (i.e. only light and highlight tones). If you have tones in the dark and shadows part of the histogram than 'strictly speaking' it's not considered high-key.
I like what you are trying to do here but I am going to say the face is overexposed. I would try and soften it somewhat. It's a nice composition and a great expression. What does the non-photoshopped image look like in B&W?
Overexposed, - with way too much saturation.
It can work better in monotone, - or with some adjustments as a colour shot, - I have loaded 2 mods for review, - both are also0 cropped.
There a good tutorial on high key on this site you should check out for some good tips
Regards
Willie
