Decided to upload the full image of the sunset over Alness golf course from which I cropped the square version that I uploaded on Friday.

Still not sure which I prefer. I think this one shows off the sky better, but I quite liked the way the tree on the left in this image is more dominant in the square version.

Thanks for all your votes and comments on the square one Smile

Looks good from any angle and any format Sue. This version looks to have a certain softness about it, while the square crop has a rather more dramatic feel to it. Both really good pieces of work though.

I am quite partial to the square format in landscape work, Sue, as you may have noticed, but here I am not sure which version I prefer: I have been dotting back and forth, but in the end I think today's landscape format just wins by a margin. A very close call though.

Both good images but I think the square version is stronger; the asymettry works better IMO.

Think if it was cropped like a triangle the composition would still be good, lovely detail and colour Sue Smile Geoff.
