Decided to upload the full image of the sunset over Alness golf course from which I cropped the square version that I uploaded on Friday.
Still not sure which I prefer. I think this one shows off the sky better, but I quite liked the way the tree on the left in this image is more dominant in the square version.
Thanks for all your votes and comments on the square one ![]()

Looks good from any angle and any format Sue. This version looks to have a certain softness about it, while the square crop has a rather more dramatic feel to it. Both really good pieces of work though.

I am quite partial to the square format in landscape work, Sue, as you may have noticed, but here I am not sure which version I prefer: I have been dotting back and forth, but in the end I think today's landscape format just wins by a margin. A very close call though.

funnily I prefer this one ..
tho' loved the cropped one when I saw it
I really liked the square crop, but think this just has the edge, Sue..and it's got more of that stunning sky! Luvverly stuff...
