After missing a couple of coach outings due to being confined to hospital, I managed to make it on Thursday's trip to Hohenschwangau, a village in the southern part of Bavaria, only about 2 to 3 kilometres north of the border with Austria, and stands alongside a large lake, the Alpsee (V5). Though there were only odd patches of snow everywhere else, here as you can see there was lots of the white stuff!
The main purpose of the trip was to visit Neuschwanstein Castle which stands on the hillside, and can be seen in the distance in V3. The temperature didn't manage to get much above freezing, and it was also a bit misty. It was a bit of an uphill climb to the castle, but having a rather painful knee after my mishap, decided to take the easy way up on one of the horse-drawn carriages (V4)
