Sunrise from Goswick Sands overlooking the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, taken in September.
It was blowing an icy gale while we walked along the beach from the Beachcomber Campsite at Goswick, near Berwick. Brilliant isolated location, and probably possible to walk to the causeway to cross to Lindisfarne from there too. We didn't though. We drove down and went across the regular way...
Thanks for looking,
Chris

This is a beautiful photograph and quite refreshing to see a photo of Lindisfarn without the castle
Richerd
Thanks for the comments so far. I did get some shots of the castle from close by and from the little harbour with the boats in the foreground, but to be honest there were so many people roaming about even on a cold September day it just ruined the experience a little. I much prefer the isolation of the nearby beaches such as this.
If anyone's looking for a campsite close to Berwick and Lindisfarne I can recommend Beachcomber. It's basic, but the massive beach is just over the sand dune behind the site.

just beautiful, I love all the four elements you have included
the gate works as great foreground interest
its like the beginning of a journey.... into your image ...or as a metaphor ..either works for me
and I love those sun rays too ...they add life into the this
Diana
You've captured that cold really welll with that promise of the sun, but probably not for a while.
