To understand the title you will need to have followed the fortunes of the wildlife on our local lake during the course of the last week. Sufficient to say that, dredging work having ceased for the weekend, the lake has re-filled and at least some of the wildlife has returned. You will have to go to my website for the whole story. ![]()

The 'bronze' is actually the reflection of the jib of an excavator, on the bank of what is actually a small pond (though locally is referred to as the lake) which is engaged upon a dredging operation. So the effect is slightly artificial
But no less pleasing for that.
The setting sun does add to the 'glow' of the shot admittedly. I was fortunate.
The gull is quite content to stand upon an only-just-submerged tree branch, excluded from the 'fowl-community' ![]()
Thank you for your kind comments
I bet those poor birds wonder what on earth is going on. Looks like they're holding a committee meeting to complain about the disruption.
I thought it was the sunset making the water so gold, Jack. I can see from what you say that it's only partly that, so the jib has effectively enhanced the sunset reflection.
Excellent shot I love those colours and it is very nicely composed, very well done
Hugh
