Apologies to all those who find such shots
distasteful. But please let me clarify that this
shot was taken with the permission of the chap
and his dog. The dog growls when you get
anywhere near it and it woke the chap, who I
asked if I could take a shot to make a point and
send a message. I gave the guy a couple of
pounds for breakfast, which I thought was only
fair and was greatly appreciated by both him
and the dog. I don't have a website and won't
be selling the image, even if it were good
enough to sell and so will not be gaining from it
in any way. It was taken to make a point and to
generate thought, emotion and discussion.
Tricky shot as was taken ISO1600, wide open
and handeld.

I don't find it distasteful at all. You've captured an image that reflects how some people live. I have a few similar shots in my portfolio and like you I asked first and made a donation.

You've captured life as it is for some people.

regards,

Ken

Well done fantastic picture well suited to black-and-white, and I don't believe it's necessary to apologise as this is a fact of life and found in all British cities. I know you state that you will not do anything with this image by do urge you to consider sending it to the organisations that do help homeless people. This image clearly shows the viewer what life can be like for the homeless. If you give this image to these organisations for free you may end up help this man.

Thanks to you all for the very kind words. Really wasn't sure whether to post this one or not due to it's nature. Good point about donating it. Thanks folks.
