An experiment!
Honesty leaves in a pink perspex bowl of water,
with a Joline frame!
I've uploaded two versions. Awaiting the verdict.

V2 for me - darker, sharper, more tactile and a greater sense of depth.

Your experiment has worked well
............and now I can see v2, I agree with Moira that it has a great sense of depth

Both versions have their attractions, Kate, but it's V 2 for me too, as I get the impression that it seems to suggest being backlit rather more than V 1 : I do like back lighting when it is used with an appropriate subject and handled well, and that was what came to mind the minute I saw V 2.

V2 for me today Kate i had a go at something similar some tome ago with a rose floating in the bathroom sink was all a bit of fun but like your capture today it works well

Very good still life representation. Like both versions equally. Crisp and detailed.
V2 for me.. It is so well balanced, the seeds swim in a dark place and shine.
V2 for me too it has far greater impact and is much clearer and sharper
