Yes, your remarks about rust and roses were very encouraging. I have already found a closer combination and think of ways to improve the idea next week at work
Today was gardening day between drizzle and grey, imagine my surprise to see this remarkable fly when I was just about to get a spade. Being me, the camera wasn't far and I spent about 3 minutes stalking on a fly which was being blown around on top of a grass. I'm extremely lucky that we live in a forest clearing and there is nobody around to ask serious questions about my mental health.
I have often used the expression running around like a blue ...ed fly, well this is a hairy yellow one. If you happen to know what its real name is, I'd be obliged.
Many thanks to Lynne for the ID Scathophaga stercoraria

Scathophaga stercoraria, known as the common yellow dung fly or sometimes called the golden dung fly. It is one of the most familiar and abundant of flies in many parts of the northern hemisphere, and in spite of its name and habits, one of the prettiest.
This is a fantastic image Annette, well worth your wild scrambling. My mental health has been questioned many times when seeking shots like this, but I spent 30 years in politics so everybody knows I'm mad anyway!
Like the shape of this image, Annette. Any excuse to stop the gardening!!! ![]()

So that is what the Four Tops were singing about when they sang "sugar pie, honey bum" lol
An exceedingly good macro indeed Annette and as Gary says I think you have to be a bit mad to be a photographer!![]()
