Thank you all for your comments and votes yesterday! At last I have captured this very shy bird, they are so nervous that normally I am unable to get any where near to get a decent shot, yesterday up at Geoff Bakers hide (thank you Geoff) this beauty showed up, the first and second time it was a fleeting visit but later I managed a few shots, chuffed to bits.

Just watching these beautiful birds just 10 feet in front of you is an experience and to get some photos too is a real bonus.

wonderful detail at 250mm...I presume you use a tripod? or do you just rest on a beanbag or similar? SmileSmile

Thanks everyone, Have a medical condition so unable to hand hold any lens without shaking, but before this as a Pro always used a tripod.

Trev.

He is posing beautifully TrevGrinGrin..... great image!
We get them occasionally in our garden, and I have got a half... ok , maybe a quarterTongue of a decent shot of one to say it was about 30 ft away and I was indoors and behind the glass, he was there so long I got bored of taking shots, but I wouldnt go out as I just knew he would fly off as soon as I opened the doorSadWink
