First thought seeing the image was that the out of focus foreground was wrong as it constitutes the majority of the image and you can only see the top part of the lighthouse so adds to the lack of balance. Then saw your V2 which for me ticks the boxes and gives a well balance shot. So my vote is for V2

thanks...I take loads of shots of the `full' lighthouse but spotted how the seagulls were huddling and tried some different styles....thanks for looking and commenting Smile

V2 works better for me (despite the blobs/birds in the sky). I like the way it creates a relationship. V1 bypasses the gulls.
