hello Katie, welcome to EPZ.
This is an amazing stencil work you have captured and the presence of the people somehow coincides with the direction this child is directing his irony.
The picture of the paintwork would be also great, even on its own.
But I "read" it as you have framed it, the older generation (represented by the man in the coat) on its thoughts (and guilts) coming gently out of the (time-)frame and the working people (in the rat-race) rushing off on the motorbikes...
Does this child represent hope? despair? condemnation?
I pray for its future because the times are hard.
We seem to have moved away for the century of the fear of nuclear war.
Everyday life can be far more surprising. Or even scary.
At least is not scary to a stencil painting on a wall,
which may last us over and remind others we were optimists....
