Not a lie.
This Lindhof glass-plate camera is the very one which photographed Pope John Paul II at 18 years old (Karol Josef Wojtyła as he was at the time).
It lives in the Foto Bielec studio, a magical place in the west end of Krakow, and still enjoys regular use.
McGoo was kind enough to introduce us to the lady who runs the studio, Basia, who delighted in showing us the equipment and told us all about it, and how it works. Unfortunately, I don't speak Polish and didn't understand a word of it, but she did make us feel very welcomed, even calling us back into the studio to show us some lovely photos of Mrs. McGoo. And her son did help by translating during a quiet moment.
Taken with what little light was available at the time.

Cracker of a shot and it was an amazing place - and hard to believe that the camera is still in daily use.

Great work David. A very effective low light shot that allows the attention to be focused on the details.

RE: mod - Nice one. Thanks Greg. Probably closer to what I had in mind anyway, I think my monitor might be a bit bright.
