Took this just this afternoon. Used a ND grad on the sky.
A member of the Selby family, Dorothy, is thought to be the ghost that is so frequently seen around Ightham Mote. According to legend, she was walled up in a room in the tower after she sent a letter to her cousin, Lord Moneagle, which resulted in the downfall of Guy Fawkes and his Gunpowder Plot. Supporters of Fawkes supposedly locked her in a room, bricked up the door and left her there to die.
Since then, there has always been an unexplained coldness in that area of the house. In 1872, workmen found a female skeleton in a sealed room. Even after a Bishop performed an exorcism in the room where she died, the strange chill is said to still remain.
Bit of history for you too ![]()
