No problem Bill, thanks for looking in and the kind words
Very nice shot - it's Herring Gull not Heron
Fine shot stu & well frozen in flight (Click)
Hope you didn't mind my attempt to lift the catch light to the head area
Stu, what method were you using to capture the bird. From this I mean would be interesting to know the shutter speed and aperture.
Pic doesn't seem quite sharp enough to be great, but the timing when you pressed the shutter is just about spot on.
nice image click
Thanks Chris, Vince, Cheryl & Richard for looking in and the kind words, Chris I stand corrected on that one.
Cheryl I shot it using aperture priority mode @F5.6, which resulted in an exposure of 1/640 sec, the iso was 100.
Also thanks for the mods, they all defenitly add to the image, I must admit that I used the high pass method for sharpening, and after looking at the mods it probably wasn't the most effective method.
And a superb capture too. Den
Thanks Den for looking in and the kind words.
Very good try.
Thanks Barry for the kind words

Great shot of a young Gull. This is hard to do.I know iv tried it.
Hi Stu, are the parakeets still around in New Brighton? I used to live in the 'pool and took the 'exotic' trip over to NB and was amazed to see wild ring necked parakeets in the trees!
Great capture a very difficult thing to do (glad I don't use film!!!)
Awesome shot Stu. The light hitting the bird seems to be perfect.
Nice capture Stu.
