"If I had a flower for every time I thought of you... I could walk through my garden forever." (Alfred Lord Tennyson)

These roses were left on the ice on the Lea Navigation (canal) in North London. Maybe left in memory of a tragic incident or just thrown from a nearby houseboat, I was unable to ascertain.
v2 uploaded just to show the wider picture.

Iso200, f11, 1/160sec..... HAND HELD!!!

A very big thank-you to all who voted/commented on more London, and for the UAs (personally thanked).

Dave

The crop although beautiful does not tell the whole story, whilst image number 2 allows our imagination to run freely through Tennyson's Rose Garden.

This very much a make a story from what you see.

For some reason I always associate flowers on water as a sadder moment in sombody's life. I do have to say that if V2 had had the upper parts of the boats cropped just leaving the bows in the image. I feel it would of had a greater emotional power to it.

For me V1 seems to be more of a thrown bunch of flowers following an argument.

That said nice spot and two great compositions well captured Dave.

Regards.

I think I can put an end to your pondering here DaveWink ................... Well , what happened is, You see that yellow cable on the reel on the wall? Some innocent soul was walking along with a bunch of roses for the missus (bit early for Valentines, but they are cheaper in Jan) and he tripped over the cable, straight onto the iceSad.......... Skidded on his belly, right to the point where the roses lie. At this point he let go of the posy and slipped backwards.....................and bumped into Rosie Lea........... unfortunatly for the cheapskate (no punn intendedWink) there was a hole in the ice just there.................. Bad times, glug glug......
And all you can do is take photos without your tripodSadSadSadSad....................... DaveTongue
