After yesterday's rains I visited Pollok Country park and noticed the sun was finding breaks in the overcast: the White Cart Water is quite swollen.........as evidenced by the flow over the weir.
The stump of an old beech tree collapsed last winter and lies on the far bank beyond the weir.

My thanks to all for their support of On Fire and with special thanks to Andy {andylea}, Dougie {Scottishlandscapes}, Pam {mashwood10} and John {lifesnapper} for their User Awards which are treasured.

Ronnie.

oh what a lush green to complement the swollen river and the dramatic sky. I like the inclusion of the water level gauge.
Which is a complete list of what we lack now at 38ºC. I dread to see my flowers every day, can only dream of waters like yours.

Composition superb on this Ronnie, the swirling water makes excellent foreground interest and enough detail also in the sky, top shot.

The sky looks very ominous, Ronnie, is it about to add to the rush of water going over the weir? Well composed and captured. Carol

Another well-thought out composition, Ronnie. The bulk of the trees on the right balances the building on the left with the river flowing diagonally left to right between them. The white water contrast so well with the grey sky, and the water level indicator gives an excellent point of foreground interest.

The river is quite high here as it's nears it's journey to the clyde. Lovely sparkles and a fine feeling of the sun through the grey black clouds.

The house to the left has often been featured at our C.C.with the weir.
Looks good in full spate. Think there were a lot of fallen branches about when we visited the park in April.
Interesting to see the guage and a good sky.
