This young friend wanted a fashion type picture so we went to the local park and shot in the shelter. I wanted to get a modern look to the processing (mainly to make up for the flat dull light) so the contrast and saturation has been boosted and the colours adjusted to get a cross-processed look. Has it worked?
Any thoughts welcomed ![]()

The shot of the lass is pleasing enough - her face turned a little more to camera would have lessened the inevitable heavy contrast - also the full depth of field which keeps a busy backround in focus doesn't help I don't think !

Have you looked at this image as a B&W ?. It could help to reduce the effect that the post has or even reduce the colour in the post and BG or turn them into B&W and keep the girl in colour, but I like the shot the model looks like you could work well with her.
david - thank you for your comment which I have marked as constructive.
I used an aperture of F4 as I thought that would keep the girl infocus but lessen the b/g which I agree is busy, I kinda hoped it would be funky...
Joe - thanks, I agree b&w is a good option too
I like this photo. Lots going on. I do have to agree somewhat with Zydeco-Joe in that the pillar she is leaning against is somewhat distracting. I have to confess that I don't really know what to suggest as she has to lean against something. Possibly change the colour or tone it down perhaps?
In line with the other comments perhaps a bit of gauzian blur on the background would assist drawing the eye more to the model.
I have a shoot along these lines in mind for a future project so it is interesting to see other comments. Still a click from me though.

Hi M, pleasing shot really but I think you know a way to improve it from the other comments. Maybe would of been nice if she caught hold of the pillar and gently swung around while you clicked away.
I personally like movement in pics like this, either get them to walk towards you or across your path.
Still a good colourful pic though.

I've come back to this one because first time around I just didn't quite know what to say. I do like the purple legs and jacket but for me it doesn't look cross processed just a bit jarring.
I think the large version shows it off much better as the hair detail shows but her expression doesn't seem as if she is enjoying the model experience too much. I'm drawn to looking at the background rather too much as I'm sure it isn't meant to be quite so sharp.
I do like those leaves that match the colour of her boots. No mistaking the season.![]()

Lovely looking girl but her pose looks too staged, she is a young person so get her to move around and snap away, posing is an art
also it is not looking xprocessed at all....needs lots more work to do so
also under a shelter limits your light but still this looks OK just worth thinking about for next time
look fwd to seeing more though soon
