The corruption of the Church is from deep within and has always been. A lot of ideas were circling as I edited this: the Book of Job, the Stigmata, the obvious and numerous sex scandals of the priesthood, the Crusades, the wolf in sheep's clothing. It is a political party that is slowly eroding and rotting from within, and certainly the deceits and hypocrisy of the Catholic Church have informed my life, being raised Catholic. I am now an Atheist.

His eyes show evil intent..........
My husband was raised Catholic and feels much the same way as you do - I think going to Catholic high school cemented his realization that the church is corrupt/hypocritical.

Thanks Anne, yeah, it seems Catholic school does a good job at driving people away from faith!
My ex, and the father of my children, was also raised Catholic. He now wants nothing to do with religion. Actually, I don't think I've ever met someone my age (41) who was raised Catholic and has not rebelled. Seems to be the norm.
