Happy 2013! I trust everyone is safe and sound and had a good celebration!

This is another image from Inks Lake, taken on our hike along the granite cliffs. We met one other couple there who told us to come back in the spring, when there is a river flowing here and the rocks are no longer visible. There is even supposed to be a waterfall. At this time, the riverbed was for the most part dry, evidence of the drought conditions that have existed in this state for several years now.

The river in spring would hide those lovely tones and colours in the rocks, Anne.

Yes, it will. But the smoothness of the rocks is certainly evidence that a lot of water has run over them. There are plenty of other rocks though - we had a bit of a climb down to these.

Our reservoirs were like this in the spring, look at us now... It would be interesting to go back when the rain eventually comes, for the alternative picture.
The foreground, with those elongated strips of rock, reminds me of a reptilean foot.

Such wonderfully sensuous curves in that river bed. I love your new processing technique.

A very satisfying image to look upon Anne, I think it would have been even moreso with a much narrower frame.

By the way, have you seen Tor Eckhoff's videos on YouTube? He lives in Vestfold county in Norway

Quite an unusual place nice colours, like it with all the different shapes, regards Leon.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

I have not seen any of his videos - just checked YouTube and see he has a whole bunch of them - looks like he has a lot of true Viking blood in his veins Wink
