A couple setting off into the apparently unknown from near Brooklin as we watched them from our somewhat cool picnic site on the 4th July in Maine. They had taken a considerable time to get ready and had clothing and technology to suit the challenge. The last thing I heard was them checking their heading on their individual electronic navigation aids (clever versions of satnavs I guess).
I'm really grateful for the votes for my "In memory" image leading to an RC award - it was for the RAF, the Red Arrows and Jon Egging.
