This was taken on one of the two days the sun was out, we found this island so beautiful and also very peaceful, it was only a six minute ferry crossing from where we were staying.

Iona (Scottish Gaelic: Chaluim Chille) is a small island in the Inner Hebrides off the western coast of Scotland. It was a centre of Irish monasticism for four centuries and is today renowned for its tranquility and natural beauty. It is a popular tourist destination. Its modern Gaelic name means "Iona of (Saint) Columba

A beautiful place - I visited here whilst on holiday in Oban a few years ago. We travelled with our coach on the ferry to Mull, where we continued to the far side of Mull, and had time to go across on the short ferry ride to Iona. A lovely little church there too. A super capture, Trev Wink

What a shame you only had two days like this weather wise, Trev: what a difference the sun and blue skies make to the images.......just compare this with yesterday's.
It's such a delightful and peaceful spot, well off the beaten track, and although visited by so many from Mull or Oban each year, yet it remains unspoiled.
Lovely capture you have made and a delight to view.
Ronnie.

we spent time in the Outer Hebrides when son in law was in the army - terrible place to my mind, probably very different to where you have just been, hundreds of sheep and 1 cow tethered on a rope, no ice cream shop or postcards for sending home in fact no real shops all wooden shacks and worst of all flies when the wind dropped which wasnt too often and blew a gale other timesSad having said all that you have a glorious picture with water so blue and a sky to matchSmile

Oh it brings back the memories for me. On my brother in laws fishing boat (lobster) back in the 70's. Pulling into Sound of Iona. Great shot mate. How did the docs go. Hope it was good news. Paul
