This is the Isle of May from Anstruther. I had a fantastic day on this wee island which is a Scottish Natural Heritage site. Its uninhabited except for the researchers so the wildlife gets a good chance tae flourish. Fantastic day
The sky's a blinder!! I like the slight slope on the rocks too, and the detail.
Let's see now..... yep, clear of footprints. Good.... ...... .... Aaah!! Gotcha!!! .... the horizon's wonky!
Great detail and tones in the rocks and sky. I also liked the composition of the three layers: foreground, sea and sky.
I think there is quite a bit of archaeology on the island, with remains of a monastery that was sacked by the Vikings.
Excellent sky and some ankle-breaking rocks. Superb textures in the mono.
Alan , desist it's no . It's an optical illusion ya auld git I sweated buckets over that bloody horizon !!! But decided it wis fine Must be yer monitor lol
Cheers Dave , iam nimble as a goat so nae injuries
Yea Jack yer right theres a cove where the monks used tae bathe , aye Alan some scots do wash lol. And the oldest lighthoose in Scotland Great wee place

YOU ARE WONKY
I know. So is the horizon.
I like this Rod, great sky, great comp. Keeping out of the dissagreement!!!!!!!
If the horizon was wonky all the water would have run out years ago.
Thanks Jack !! The voice of reason
Superb sky, great tonal range, quality image Rod.
Good composition, I like the different layers.
The horizon is fine, it's only 0.64 degrees off level, that's pretty good for a Scottish horizon. I've had a lot worse.
OK I suppose it's near enough for you lot
Don't patronise Alan i have told you before
Presume yae went tae the Nster chippy efter the visit an a widnae worry about the horizon debate. The bricht wans among us ken that the horizon cannae be straicht cause that wid mean the earth wis square and every half wit kens its round so the horizon cannae be level!!!!
Nice fotae Rod am aye amazed it's 5 miles aff shore it aye looks closer.
Nah we didnae come hame tae steak n chips Much better
No as wonky as Marks image today and ye didnae mention that min. Now iam soondin sad lol Dr Frankenstein what have you made !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A corker of a sky, wonky horizon - what's not to like
Thanks Kate btw the horizon isnae ............................. nah i gie up
Excelente contraste entre las lineas del primer plano y las nubes.
Quote: Superb sky, great tonal range, quality image Rod.
Well said. I think the eye is misled to take the horizon wonky, but it is not. It's an optical illusion.
How do you follow that lot? All I can say is I really like this image Rod - the three layers are fabulous and the mono gives it bags of atmosphere!

If you look closely at Mark's image from yesterday, you'll see that it isn't actually wonky at all. It's the slight slope on the spit of land that makes it seem wonky.
If you're able to move the image up towards the top edge of your screen, and use that as a level, you'll see what I mean.
Yours, on the other hand, is wonky.
........but in a nice way

You're wrong. See preceding comment.
Excellent in mono - love the sky.
It's a scientific fact that the horizon is only level at the equator. As you get closer to the poles the horizon slopes more and more until at the poles it is vertical.
Yeah ok i see whit you mean noo , we are talkin a baa hair of wonkiness I admit defeat in this wan ya stubborn auld craw Back tae the drawin board
Whew!!!! how do you follow that lot? .................anyway I like it.
well I'm fair glad that argument is resolved ah wid never have said it was wonky even tho it is, ma manners are too good fer that, anyway it wis only a tad oot .8 degrees right whits that atween pals lol 3 gid layers of interest here Laddie with a great sky and F/G interest and detail.
Ps Rod my average is 2.4 degrees oot lol
oh!! did ye flourish when ye were there ?
Hi Rod, knew this was yours from the tn. Hate to say it but Alan's right, viewed on my little lap-top your horizon is about 1mm off, but the image is so awesome I'll get over it, in time, with help.
FFS Si am gonnae need professional help wi this one lol Cheers bud
Cheers Phil Glad ye like my wonky fotae

Who cares if the horizon is wonky...this was the best entertainment I have had for ages, I am crying with laughter. Great mono seascape
If I lean my head to the left the Horizon is first class...John
Glad you got a laugh Colleen , we do take oor photography seriously but we can still take the mince oota each other. I have learned the anti-wonky horizon tool today so all that heartache was not in vain
It's not the horizon that is wonky.......Scotland is actually tipping up because of the weight of all the subsidies we hard working southerners are giving it.
Now I am for it.............better not mention the dates for when I am up there later in the year.......................
I'll effin subsidies yeah !!!!!!! All oor iol money has subsidised you sassennachs for forty odd years When ye coming up and where ye going so ican summons ma posse
No need for violence.
