Silly Sunday upload, based on my mini series from Morton corbet Castle, a lot of you noticed the eerie atmosphere of this location and in the write up you can see there are sightings of ghostly goings on..... so it inspired me to try and create an even more spooky look to the evening .... I hope you enjoy it as much as I liked creating it.
Moreton Corbet Castle
Moreton Corbet Castle is a magnificent and unusual, ornate ruin that is, very atmospheric like a stage set for a romantic melodrama. The original castle was built by Bartholomew Torret in the 11th century, then around 1239 it was acquired by the Corbet’s who built a stone castle on the site. Sir Andrew Corbet died before the completion of the Elizabethan manor house. There is reputed to be a curse on the building which was vetted on Sit Vincent Corbet during the persecution of the Puritans, when a Puritan neighbour (Paul Holmyard) placed the said curse on the building after Sir Vincent asked him to leave the nearby hide out in the woods. It seems the curse was effective as the building, despite many changes of ownership has never been finished. There is a rumour that the ghostly spirit of Paul Holmyard stalks Morton Corbet's walls, ensuring that no building work is done. Nearby is St. Bartholemew's church, which contains some fine tombs of the Corbet family and which is also worth a visit.
