Ivanhoe Crossing is about 10 minute drive north of Kununurra. You can cross the river Ord here.

When the gate is shut this is because the water level is deemed too dangerous for cars to drive on the submerged road. At other times you can drive across the river. It’s supposed to be quite exciting the first time you do it.

It is a good place to see crocodiles here. There were none when I walked around there but I can’t say I was disappointed. Enjoying the views and fishing are good reasons for coming here.

Great composition. Well done.

Nice take, first time I've seen the gate closed, having driven across many times over the years, i certainly would not attempt it with amount of water going over it, i saw a hilux ute get washed off years ago.

Yes, it looks a bit to swollen to have folk trying a crossing! Some fine bigger views but I tend to rather like the closer inspection in V 3, JNC.

Like the water movement you have captured. Do not think I would venture across here, especially if there was the possibilities of crocs. Moira

Beautiful scenes, Jean-Noel, and good to see the 'natural' water movement, and not milky. Don't think I would attempt to drive across it, though Sad Carol

Excellent reportage set, J-N. I do like the dynamism and movement in v3.
