As much as I like the shot, I find the processing a bit aggressive.
You can halo running along his back and around his head.
And the blur/soft focus added is a bit in and out, places that should be in focus are not? Ok, it might add emphasis to the dog, but it just looks a bit strange.
Otherwise, it is a rather lovely portrait of your dog.

To be honest I wasn't going for any artistic effect except massively over processing it. I've not long had PSE so was trying out effects like the depth of field layer which to be honest I don't really like and would never use apart from messing around like in this pic - this was for my own amusement and as he is a popular dog in our community - (we live just out of the image)- I thought it was time I paid him my dues as he never appears in any of my other pics.....
