Something very different today. A very docile cute and lovely nocturnal rodent (ears are usually erect) , caught not far from home by my son and later released at the same place.
These are hopping rodents of desert and semi-arid regions with long ears, tails and feet. All members of the genus have five toes except for a single species, the Four-toed Jerboa, Allactaga tetradactyla of Northern Africa, which has four. Members of this genus can jump distances of greater than one meter.

They are usually nocturnal and members of the genus have relatively large eyes. Diet varies by species, with some feeding almost exclusively on vegetation and others being insectivorous. Captured specimens have lived over four years.

Thank you folks for the kind appreciation of my previous upload! I am especially thankful to Ken (franken) for his generous UA.

Cute in a slightly alien sort of way. So strange to see it sitting on a smart sofa.

Well adapted for their environment. The size of their eyes, ears, feet and tail is so disproportionate to the body, almost comical in effect Smile

I love V1 wth focus on the eyes and snout then tailing off so to speak with that wonderful long tail.
Also lovely to see the gentle look in your son's eyes as he holds the jerboa.
