Jökulsárlón Beach

Jökulsárlón Beach is located across the road from the glacier lagoon, On this volcanic black sand beach the icebergs flow out of the glacier lagoon and then the tide washes them up onto the beach! Some are the size of cars & others like this one much smaller.

This image took some work, as in mid Feb the wind can be very strong on this part of the coast of Iceland, today was no different with 50 mph gusts, sand & spray constantly covering the camera, trying to hold onto the camera, watching out for seriously strong waves and trying to compose an image - all at the same time!
