Thank you all so very much for your varied comments and messages following yesterdays upload. It was really quite refreshing and somewhat educational as to what you thought regarding the so called 'rules'. I must also thank Fentiger (Albert) for pointing out that image number would benefit from further brightening, which I took on board and uploaded a variant. "As the saying goes you're never to old to **** things up"

Todays upload intended was captured on the Peninsula a little while ago after our first flurry of the white stuff, I rather liked the 50/50 split showing a divided emphasis on both the sky and the landscape.

This image however is 'Just Rain'.

Well I hope that you all have a great day ahead, for me shall be in my creative mode behind the Sewing Machine, knocking out more Owls and Elephants for the RBLI.

Regards as always Nathan GrinGrinGrin

What a novel and creative idea to take a photo like this Nathan !! I love the colour in this image !! We also had a strong downpour here yesterday, so much so that the gutters could not contain the water and it overflowed ! Enjoy creating them owls and elephants SmileGrinGrin

This is well observed and taken, Nathan. Do like the wet texture and the shapes in this shot. A great idea to depict 'rain' in this way - gives me some thoughts - thank you Smile We are getting plenty of the wet stuff hereabouts, and could make a change from looking for water-drops! Grin

I very much like the minimalism and symmetry of this, the hint of the reflected wall behind. super collection of rain drop splashes and all superbly grounded in the drain at the centre.

The scourge of our time chewing gum it's every where; and shows the state of decline in this country, nice few splashes in the fore ground Nathan, good detail I think I would have cloned a few more in, not to many, a good composition well balanced, and good light, like it regards Leon. Rain on stone, water on any surface brings out more visually it's textures as well as its colours. Nothing like taking a dry river rock and immersing it in water to bring out the colours.

We currently have dry river beds in our area; I would appreciate some of this sent our way.

The textures tones and shapes are well captured and make for an unusual but fascinating subject. Many years ago, when my children were young, one of them asked what you called those things the rainwater ran down. As a Glaswegian the only words that came to mind was "a stank". Couldn't think of anything else rather to my concern!

This would never have worked dry, Nathan. It has to have the rain to provide that extra colour and sheen.
Reminds me of a Citroen I had many years ago, Tried to sell it at auction and the clerk said "It's a sad old Citroen that looks better on a wet day".How true that was, it shone in the rain, as do the subjects of this image.
