Well I think Carol is a little put out by my recent hawk moth images, so just to rub some more salt into her poor wounds, I thought I'd post a couple of Privet Hawk-moths today, V2's wings are blurry because it was actually warming itself up prior to take off Tongue Sorry Carol....GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Very busy with other things at the moment, but will catch up with everyone as and when I can! Wink

Hedgehog Update
Well we've solved the riddle of why one of our hedgehogs was anointing itself with a live toad the other night. Apparently Toads excrete an obnoxious substance from their skin when attacked by Adders and other predators. Hedgehogs know this and use the substance their selves as added defence on their spines. It's another reason why Foxes leave them well alone, we were just lucky at the time to witness it! Smile Were still getting quite a lot of activity at the moment despite their hibernation period fast approaching, just waiting for the first hard frost now and we think that's when their feeding will slacken off.

You're not really sorry, Ade, you're just gloating Wink. V.2 ticks the right boxes for me, what a glorious coloured undercarriage, rather the colours of a liquorice allsort Smile. Just a bit of a dig from me, went out for half an hour to the meadow this afternoon and captured (on camera) 9 different species of butterfly Smile. Carol

Wonderful colour in v2, Ade. I shall be interested in how this little contre-temps develops.

Two fine crisp shots with each demanding the V 1 slot, Ade: V 2 shows off the colours on the abdomen nicely.
