This is the result of a delve deep into the archives, as the original Karleen and Karleen 2 appeared in October last year. Taken at Seahouses, on the Northumberland coast but not so close to Scotland as Bamburgh.

70mm, 1/125th sec. @ f22, ISO 200

I suppose you might accuse me of scraping the bottom of the boat for this one.

I like the subdued light on this one Bill, looks like the old Girl has a lot of history.

Nope! The way the weather's been lately Bill we have no choice do we? Great shot particularly like your composition/crop and the red and blue peeling paint.

kind regards,

Robin

Your puns are almost as bad as my own Bill, but yor eye for detail is well ahead of mine.

Some wonderful decay here Bill; it's all there, textures , colours, peeling paint, the odd nail; lovely shot.

Well you certainly came up with a good one! I'm about to do the same thing, the grey weather has made photography a challengeSmile

Just been doing some comparisons and I think this is even better than Karleen 2. The colours appear richer and the crop has more impact. Think we're all doing a bit of barrel scraping at the moment! Smile

Yes,I do remember Karleen Bill. And still looking as gorgeous as ever. Unlike some old ladies I know, there is no need to cover over the cracks and wrinkles here !!! They say ''beauty is only skin deep''.Rubbish !!! It is whats beneath the skin where the beauty lies.I think you will understand me,and that is only knowing you for over a year. However, after 33 years marriage,I best not tell the wife she looks like a cracked and wrinkled old boat !!!

Speaking as a woman of a certain age, I have to agree with Mikbee. Some things, like good wine and the best cheese, just get better with age...

This is another for the PPS (Peeling Paint Society) - always a good subject for an image!

What photographer worth his or her salt could miss an opportunity such as this. The mix of red and blue with the touch of rotting wood makes this a fine image Bill.
