This is close-up of King Edward Primus in York Minster. He is one of 15 large statues each in it's own niche and each is a Middle Age English Monarch.
The sculptor was imprisoned in a Debtors Prison and released to finish the work. A tight time limit was set for completion so he set to work and finished the work in time and thus was able to pay his debts.
With the work being done in haste the sculptor cut corners and on close inspection it can be seen very clearly that he only used, for the 15 Monarchs, four faces and disguised them with facial hair.

As I mentioned there are 15 English Monarch's from the middle ages in York Minster and Edward Primus is the one I have most shots of and only because he catches the light .

Thank you all for the comments and clicks.
