Luke - this is no doubt the best kingfisher shot I have ever seen on EPZ in my entire life Smile ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!!! The detail: 10/10, the BG, 10/10, the pose 10/10 and the light 10/10!! Well done Luke - IMO worthy of photo of the week if not higher - your Dad needs to watch out now Wink Congrats - you have a vote from Pete the editor I can see on there - so you might be getting an HC too. Well done Smile

Pleased to make this 30 Luke. Superb pose and detail. Exposure is spot on, but I would guess that what just detracts and i'm sure Dad will back me up here is that it is too tight in the frame, just a little more space above and a bit more to the left would really give it the edge. Also just a little bright on the white collar.
Richard

Thank you for your comment. I would like to say if I was not for my Dad I would not be taking photos like this, my dad has taught me everything I know, thank you Dad for all you patience and time we have spent taking these photos together.

Simply stunning close-up Luke - pin sharp detail, wonderful plumage colours and textures and great bg tones.
If I am being really picky, I would have preferred to see more space around your main subject, but this could easily be put right by extending the canvas and cloning in some more background.
Still a FANTASTIC capture - wish I had one like it in my PF! Very well deserved award - congratulations.

Good Picture Luke, however Richard is quite right. The bird needs more space to look into. Remember the rule of thirds? But you have got good eye contact and detail in the picture. Well done on your Awards.
