Here are the quilters at the beginning of the day, getting ready to do some serious sewing. We had space in an enclosed pavilion which provided nice light and although we were a little crowded everyone got a lot done. A happy bunch, there was a lot of laughter and good natured fun.

For quilters, every day is Christmas, obviously!
Jack really does need to learn to darn his own socks. I shall have words with his wife...

I always imagined they would have a lot more space than this to work in Joline.
I just imagined the quilt lying on a big table while they did the stitching !!
Interesting shot.
Mick.

A fascinating study, better for being informal and quite natural.
We have been to Berlin, Ohio, and seen the wonderful work created by the Amish quilters

Do you go with a design in mind, or do you become inspired at the weekend? or is there---"here is the theme, make of it what you will?"

I am think I would like to make a quilt now--- well maybe a doll quilt....

Thank you for your UA!

Concentrated effort for such intricate stitching.
I love to see the fabrics chosen to work with each other.
It must have been great fun and you'd all learn from each other.
