Hi Folks,
Firstly thanks to everyone who voted on my last image from Carl Wark. Here is a shot taken at Ladybower Reservoir during that cold, foggy spell between Christmas and New Year.
After a fairly fruitless sunrise on Higger Tor, I met up with Rich Cooper at the Pool Cafe. Afterwards I decided to have a quick look up at Fairholmes on Ladybower, to find the icesheet beginning to sink into the water with some quite nice melting and cracking features around the shoreline. Also the nearby pipeline/aquaduct and receeding trees helped to add a little bit of depth to the white out of the fog.
Andy

Lovely shot, Andy.
Can't help feeling that a judicious tweak of levels (black and white points) would give this a little lift. Maybe! The ice looks just a tad grey.
Have a great weekend and don't fall off anything! ![]()

I really like this Andy. Very atmospheric and love the foreground detail.
I really like this. The contrast between the hard foreground detail with dark tones and the lighter, softer mist-veiled areas is very effective.

Nice composition Andy, like the Black and White conversion and the detail in the foreground. Regards Dave![]()
