I think the composition could have improved had you located the ladybug slightly off-center. Also, could you have zoomed in more to allocate more space to the insect rather than the leaves? I think the picture would improve had you done so. I particularly think that the flower on the right hand side of the picture detracts attention from your subject and should be cropped out.

I modified the picture using Microsoft Office Picture Manager (I'm at the office now, that's the only tool I have). Using Photoshop, I'd remove or subdue the size of the blurred out closed flower on the left as well, as it's bothering me. This picture has potential waiting to be unlocked I think.

Nice effort with a 55mm


Also loaded a mod, white balance and crop plus sharpening. removed flower on left.
