The "Lago Blu" (Blue Lake in Italian) is only a couple of kilometres outside Cervinia, in the Italian Alps (Vallee d'Aosta). It's a popular spot for tourists and photographers. The Matterhorn (4,478 metres / 14,693 feet) is on the right and to its left is the "Grande Muraille" (the "High Walls")

This is a spectacular scene. So crisp and clear with lovely reflections. Love the fireweed in the foreground.

One of may favourite locations on the planet!! I'v been skiing in Cervinia for the last 10 years with a group of friends. Such a friendly place and the scenery - the way the Matterhorn and other mountains almost hang over the village - is stunning. There is a shot in one of the bars (the Yeti) taken from a similar location - but this shot is far superior!
