This was one of my first cameras (point and shoot) and one of my first shots while traveling in beautifull Croatia.

Hi Markus. Don't worry about the camera you used it is just a tool to take the picture, the real thing is your vision of the shot you want to take.
I can see very little wrong with this shot you have some good foreground interest and although the sky is slightly overexposed to the left adjusting this when taking the shot would impact on the rest of the frame which I like. I would suggest that a crop of the sky will bring the far shoreline of the lake to the 1/3rd position (See Rule of Thirds composition advice provided by many other members in other critique shots)
I have uploaded a mod to demonstrate my suggestions
A well taken image, well done Marcus ![]()

Hi Markus,
I like this shot, but for me there is too much sky.
Personally I would have made this into a panaramic shot lossing some of the sky and the lower section of the bushes but retaining the reflection of the hills in the lake. I've uploaded a quick mod to show this.
Hi Markus, its not a bad shot. Doesnt conform to many landscape rules, - but it doesnt have to. Its a shot of a lake, and a good one; exposure is good. There very little to hold the viewers interest, such as a boat, which would have improved this a great deal, but there isnt always a boat.
I agree with some comments made already; theres too much of that foliage in front, so it acts as a barrier, rather than a lead in; the horizon is close to the middle which isnt a great composition; the colour balance is too cool; and most of all, its not level. The ripples in the lake can be used as a reference for levele, as they are flat, and it needs a counter clockwise rotation, - not a lot.
The panoramic suggestion makes sense to me, so Ive also loaded a mod with the same type of crop, removed some foliage, adjusted level and tone.
regards
Willie
