To complement yesterday's upload, this is the long-tailed blue, still to be found in the meadows, even now it has turned much cooler. This one was not as willing to pose, could only manage two quick images before flitting off to an unreachable flower.

The blue shows up on the dorsal wing surface very nicely in V 1, Carol, and the stripey pattern on the undersurface in V 2.
Two fine crisp shots.
Ronnie.

So you only had time to take 2 brilliant shots then Wink Lovely work as always Carol, it always gives me a little boost in the morning seeing your work.

So nice to see this beautiful butterflies as, with the summer we've had this year, have hardly seen any at all. I think the only ones I have seen were at Tropical World in Leeds, and they weren't willing to pose either! Wink

Sorry to be so long in coming back to you, Carol, to thank you for your kind comments. I wanted to add my comment to the legion of commentators above (!!) - as I always have what is verging on awe at anyone who manages to keep them still long enough to take the beautiful image you have here. What georgeous colours!
