excellent light on the ring, a beautiful composition
Quote: Excellent light on the ring, a beautiful composition
Quite.
This is stunning. The framing and colors in the background enhance the striking foreground. I am curious about the light source for the stones and the foreground area. I think I see the line for an ND grad. It does make it appear there is an artificial light source (street light?) near the scene. This isn't something most would notice or think about and it certainly doesn't degrade the quality of this wonderful scene.
Thanks for the comments and votes everyone.
There was no grad LightTouchesSurface, we tone-mapped this from a single RAW file so it's technically not HDR but sometimes you can achieve good results anyway. The light source is the sun peeking through a chink in the clouds on the left horizon. it came through just enough to bathe the dolmen and the surrounding grass in a lovely warm light.
Thanks again

Like the light, just at the right angle to emphasise the ring around the stones...nice
