This is a image i created today which proved to be quite difficult due to the high dynamic range of the image from the darker tree to the lighter area in the sky. I used a couple of n grad filters at an angle to cut the light of the break in the sky. A bit of post editing in PS6 and a little work in the raw converter to bring up the tree and a bit of work using the fill light and recovery facility to help with difference between the sky and landscape.

As Paul states, a lot of work done. I would like to discuss the composition, as I feel that your sky highlight and the position of the tree could have been improved. To me they seem to be to close in to the corners and I think that placed on positions of more impact, like junctions of thirds, would help your image quite a lot. I see you were on 43mm FL so there was scope there even if you were unable to move back.
I think the image could stand a bit of brightening up as well to show better foreground detail. I will ahve a go at a mad and maybe upload it.
