I've been wondering whether to upload this or not - I would have liked the lantern to be more central in the reflection, but then the edge of the pavement would become more vertical and I like the slant here. Anyway - here it is, together with v2 which is more like the original. It was taken hand held with my new camera, exif details:
ISO 400
f/11
1/4 sec
I used to walk through Leadenhall Market every morning on my way to work and I hated the wet cobbles (it was hosed down every day) as I teetered through in my high heels!!
Thanks for looking in and for your time - as usual, comments and criticisms are very welcome.
Ann

Even without the pedestrian, it would be an excellent study of the wet cobbles catching the light and the reflections, but the passerby's legs do add so much.

Golden dreams in a puddle...
I can see the logic for the simpler more concentrated composition in V1, but I do prefer the balance of V2. It's quirkier. Plus there are three strong, totally unrelated elements, and an uneven number always seems to work better for me. But the legs, and their motion blur, are absolutely essential.

The light on the cobbles is quite special Ann, nice composition, the sausage and mash is tempting but I'll go without. My sister used to be a teeterer too, 5 foot 2 and heels like stilts. Crazy.

An elegant pair of legs tottering through in high heels would of course have been preferable, Ann, with or without sausage, mash and gravy; I'm sure Mick would agree Grin
I like both versions, pretty much equally; for me they complement each other besides proving that there are two pictures in one. The colour is excellent, the composition suits me fine. To V2 I would suggest the slightest of amendments to remove the chair legs just visible at the top.
Regards
Bill

Although v2 has its charm and would stand alone, I would have cropped it below the feet in V1 for an even more abstract image.

I prefer V1 without the sign Ann.
Good colour in the cobbles and reflection too.
And cobbles and high heels are a bad combination.
High heels and fishnet stockings are a far better combination I think.
And preferable without any sausage, mash and gravy stains on them !!

V1 for me Ann. I think this is an outstanding image and that crop is perfection. Whilst three is often better than two the sign board is a distraction in V2 and as it is in the shadow area we are struggling to read it therefore spending too much time in that area.A super image cropped to perfection and the movement from the figure is a whopping big bonus.
